Accredited calibration of scales and weighing equipment

Calibration is a series of tests of the scale, determining how imprecise the weighing ability of the scale is. The calibration must be carried-out with weights, which are traceable to acknowledged reference standards.

The calibration follows an approved procedure and is performed with weights that are traceable to known reference norms and standards from BIPM in Paris.

Weights, procedures as well as training of inspectors are monitored by DANAK. DANAK is the national accreditation body in Denmark appointed by The Danish Safety Technology Authority, under the Ministry of Business and Growth Denmark. As the national accreditation body DANAK is responsible for accreditation of laboratories and companies.

Accredited calibration may only be performed by laboratories approved by DANAK.

Documentation

As documentation a Certificate of Calibration (Accredited) is issued. The Certificate of Calibration includes calculations about imprecise results.
