110 Electric Waste Collection Vehicles for ARC
Scanvaegt Systems will be responsible for delivering mobile weighing systems to ARC.
ARC (Amager Resource Center), with its investment in 110 electric garbage trucks, has taken a significant step toward making waste collection in Copenhagen climate neutral.
The new electric garbage trucks that ARC will receive over the next two years will be equipped with integrated mobile weighing systems for emptying registration and route planning.
The delivery of the mobile weighing systems was put out to public tender by ARC, to which Scanvaegt Systems submitted a solution proposal. Based on an evaluation of quality, price, method, and process, ARC assessed our proposal as the most economically advantageous offer and selected us as the supplier.
“We are proud to have been chosen as the supplier of the mobile weighing systems and thereby contribute to the important task of the green transition that ARC is committed to,” says Lennart Svenstrup, Market Manager in Denmark. He continues: “Our system also enables ARC to optimize route planning for the garbage trucks, ensuring they drive the shortest and most direct routes during waste collection, thereby avoiding unnecessary traffic congestion in Copenhagen.”
The mobile weighing system automatically handles emptying registration of waste containers—this is done through RFID scanning of the tag on the container as well as weighing each individual container. The system also manages the planning of collection routes with route optimization and reports incidents/deviations from daily routes directly within the system.
The delivery is a framework agreement that includes mobile weighing systems comprising both hardware and software, which Scanvaegt Systems will install on the new Mercedes trucks as they are delivered over the next two years.
Handles a Range of Different Tasks
The mobile weighing system from the Swedish company BOTEK can perform a variety of tasks, including:
- Route planning for trucks
- Registration of emptying
- Registration of net weight
- Registration of collection address via RFID
- Registration of date and time of collection
- Registration of missing or faulty bins
- Driving lists for drivers
- GPS maps with an overview of collection addresses
- Transfer of collection data to the municipality
