Efficient Collection of Ten Fractions

Green Waste Management Solutions for Commercial Waste.

Scanvaegt Systems is ready with a green waste management solution that allows businesses to choose between paying per collection or per weight.

The new solution places waste collectors at the core, providing them with detailed data on waste volumes across 10 fractions, along with geographic information on collection sites. This also enables improved route planning, allowing waste collectors to optimize their driving and increase efficiency.

Increasing Complexity in Waste Collection

New waste regulations targeting the industrial sector are expected to significantly expand the waste management market. This assessment comes from Lennart Svenstrup, Business Manager at Scanvaegt Systems in Aarhus.

“All companies nationwide must have their waste collected in ten distinct fractions, which means waste collectors will face increased workloads. They will need to invest in new waste collection vehicles and hire additional staff to manage the larger and more complex waste streams,” he explains.

The ten waste categories are: food waste, paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic, beverage and food cartons, hazardous waste, textiles, and residual waste.

Proper Sorting Saves Costs

Scanvaegt Systems’ solution can be based on payment per collection, per weight, or via a third collection method.

“If volumes are weighed and recorded directly at the companies, they only pay for the actual waste they deposit in the various containers. For example, residual waste disposal is more costly than disposal of clean fractions, which motivates companies to sort correctly and save on their waste bills,” explains Lennart Svenstrup. He emphasizes that proper sorting leads to cleaner fractions, higher recycling rates, and supports the green transition.

Documentation of Collections via GPS Coordinates

The solution covers emptying of both large and small containers using lift weighing, chassis weighing, or crane methods. Waste volumes are weighed and registered during collection, generating data that can guide emptying frequency per waste category.

In addition to offering market-leading route optimization, Scanvaegt provides a GPS tracking solution that documents the exact location of each collection with coordinates for transparency and accountability.

Nationwide 24/7 Service

Scanvaegt Systems offers round-the-clock service agreements, focusing on preventive maintenance of the registration equipment.

“If collection data appears inconsistent or ‘incorrect,’ we can quickly dispatch a technician to the vehicle location to resolve issues and help waste collectors avoid costly downtime,” highlights Lennart Svenstrup.

Previously part of a larger business area within Scanvaegt Systems, the green waste management solution is now a standalone business segment.

“This allows us to strengthen our focus on delivering effective solutions that benefit waste collectors, supported by a nationwide service concept where we can differentiate ourselves,” concludes Lennart Svenstrup.
