New Heavy Calibration Truck

The task of calibrating the mobile weighing systems in refuse collection trucks has become significantly easier now that Scanvaegt has acquired a new truck specifically designed for this purpose.

Scanvaegt has expanded its fleet with a new calibration truck equipped with a crane and tipping mechanism, capable of lifting heavy test weights into the 'belly' of a refuse collection truck.

Scanvaegt has introduced a new calibration truck equipped with an integrated, specialized crane featuring an additional tipping joint. This unique tipping function enables the crane arm to reach deep into the ‘belly’ of a refuse collection truck and place test weights in all four corners — handling up to 14 tonnes of weights.

Previously, this task often required significant manual effort to move the weights inside the waste compartment, where six load cells are typically mounted beneath the bed.

With this fleet expansion, Scanvaegt now operates two calibration trucks in Denmark. These trucks are also fully capable of calibrating weighbridges. When additional capacity is needed, two weighbridge trucks based in Sweden — each carrying over 30 tonnes of test weights — can be deployed to support calibration tasks in Denmark.

The new calibration truck is used for the verification and re-verification of both Scanvaegt's own scales and those of other manufacturers.

Thanks to Scanvaegt’s new workshop facilities in Skejby, calibrations can now also be performed indoors. This eliminates the influence of wind during the calibration process involving many tonnes of weights, thereby ensuring maximum weighing accuracy.
