The LPR system replaces the somewhat cumbersome process of vehicle identification. The function makes identification easier and faster – while also preventing the use of incorrect cards and the registration of incorrect customer information.

Simple, fast registration process

When the vehicle enters the weighbridge, the LPR camera automatically begins scanning the license plate from a distance of approximately 6 meters. If the license plate is recognized, the number is displayed on the weighbridge terminal. The driver can then simply press the displayed license plate number to confirm – or use a card as usual.

If the license plate is recognized by the camera, the number and image are saved in memory for future use and stored in the database, alongside the registration for reports, for example. This also applies if the registration was made by the driver scanning their card.

The identified license plate number can be used to start a weighing – either a first or second weighing.

Accurate reading

The video camera has built-in IR light and is mounted on the VT200 terminal pole, providing an optimal reading angle of 19° at a distance of 6 meters. This ensures correct reading of the license plate in 99% of all cases – even in the dark, if the license plate is dirty, or in bad weather conditions.
